MMA Refereeing legend   has announced that following tonight's main event between Roger Huerta and Clay Guida at The Ultimate Fighter Season 6 Finale he is to retire from refereeing with immediate effect.

McCarthy who began his refereeing career back at UFC 2 in 1994 has been a regular fan favourite in the UFC and has presided over some of the most important bouts in MMA history, he will not disappear from MMA altogether but instead will join the fight network as an analyst and advisor, he will also maintain his gym in California along with working with various athletic commissions.

Did i hear some one say "UFC Hall of Fame"?
