Various sites have been speculating on the prospect of a Mauricio “Shogun” Rua Vs. Ryoto “Lyoto” Machida bout at UFC 76, mmaweekly announced the "official" confirmation, and in a recent article in the Orange County Register states that "UFC representatives confirmed (the match up)on Thursday".
Both these fighters are of the elite from Pride FC which since Zuffa LLC aquired, the UFC has been keen to snap up. Shogun's debut is being waited on by many and with the calibre of fighter that he is he'll certainly be in contention for a title shot sooner rather than later, if he successfully defeats Lyoto, we could see him take on the victor of the Jackson Vs. Shogun has been signed to the UFC for some time now and has eagerly awaited his Octagon debut, now with the prospect of Machida coming over from Pride wer'e looking at a great match up
