TUF 7 LogoThis programme may not have aired where you are in the world, the following article may contain information that you do not wish to know until you have the chance to watch the episode, be warned!!! TUF 7: Episode 2 review

So last week we saw a shake up in the ultimate fighter format in that Dana White selected 32 fighters and explained to them that there were 16 places available in the house and if they     wanted in then they had to fight their way in. The first half of the fights were shown and this week is the fights between the last 16 hopefuls.

Elimination Fight 1: Dan Simmler Vs. Matthew Riddler

Round 1 - Riddler throws a middle Kick and then takes Simmler (who coincidentally is a long time student of Matt Serra) down although Simmler manages to get back to his feet. Simmler goes for a Flying armbar but Riddler manages to shake him off. Both guys work for the takedown against the cage and eventually Riddler gets it and ends up in Guard. Riddler then gets up whilst Simmler stays on the ground in the crab position, the round ends with Riddler kicking Simmler's legs.

Round 2 - Riddler scores with an explosive punch and drops Simmler! Rampage describes this as the KO of the century!

Winner by TKO - Matthew Riddle

Elimination Fight 2: Luke Zackrich Vs. Patrick Schultz

Round 1 - Zackrich throws a kick which Schulz catches and then knocks Zackrich to the ground with a punch. Schultz doesn't seem to be able to finish and lets Zackrich back to his feet. After clinching a while, Zackrich gets takedown and scores with some punches from guard. Zackrich then gets Schultz's back and submits him with a Rear Naked Choke.

Winner by Submission - Luke Zackrich

Elimination Fight 3: Tim Creuder Vs. Erik Charles

Round 1 - Creuder shows impressive ground skills and scores with a quick takedown and passes to Side Control getting an Armbar to secure a win.

Winner by submission - Tim Creuder

The next fights are shown in highlight format as per last week

Elimination Fight 4: Brandon Sene Vs. Aaron Meisner

Sene defeats Meisner by rear naked choke

winner by submission - Brandon Sene

Elimination Fight 5: Gerald Harris Vs. Mark Marrello

This goes two rounds and Harris gets the decision.

Winner by unanimous decision - Gerald

Elimination Fight 6: Daniel Cramer Vs Jeremiah Riggs

Riggs takes a beating in this fight and Cramer wins via decision.

Winner by decision - Daniel Cramer

Elimination Fight 7: Jesse Taylor Vs. Nick Rossborough

Round 1 - Taylor takes Rossborough down quickly and moves to Mount but Rossborough uses the fence to push off and gets up. Taylor then scores another takedown and moves again to mount and gets Rossboroughs back. Taylor then locks in a rear naked choke and forces Rossborough to tap out.

Winner by Submission - Jesse Taylor

Elimination Fight 8: Josh Hall Vs. Matt Brown

Round 1 - Hall (a former training partner of Rampage) tries for a takedown but Brown forces him to clinch against the cage. Hall tries to take Brown down but Brown manages to stay on his feet. Hall dirty boxes his way out of the clinch and then Brown throws a left hook and jab hitting Hall. Hall then gets a takedown, Brown attempts to go for a triangle but Hall picks him up and slams him down tightening the choke. Hall manages to circle out but then falls into hammerfists, Brown then jumps on Hall and pounds strikes on him just before the round ends.

Winner by TKO - Matt Brown

After the last fight, all 32 fighters sit before Dana and the two coaches and Dana states that not a single fighter is a poser or a pussy. The 16 losers then leave the gym and Dana congratulates the 16 new contestants.
